History Of Radio Inventions And Discoveries
Radio, as we know it today, has been around for less than a century. Although the idea of using radio-waves to transmit signals dates all the way back to the 19th century, it wasn’t until late 1906 that Guglielmo Marconi had his first successful transmission of Morse Code via radio waves. It was also at this time he coined the term “wireless telegraphy.”
History was made
In the early 20th century, radio was primarily used for two purposes: to broadcast news and information, and to entertain.
In the 1930s, things started to change as people began tuning in more frequently for the latter purpose, and by 1939 many Americans received their first taste of live entertainment on air.
Radio as we Know Today
As technology keeps developing, radio has evolved too. There are a lot of stations and even content creators who run their own programs like doing a podcast which talks about series of topics on different subjects.
